It's Pimm's O'Clock!

Exciting morning as K4 arrive to find the new Pimms commercial being filmed outside the door. Reservoir dogs is the concept, but were not sure what the dog spray painted red is all about!

Know your place!

Slowly but surely...

Tuesday night saw week 3 of Steve & Simon's Badminton challenge. Yet again Simon was the victor. With last weeks appalling performance of 4-0 to Simon, steve knew he had to step up his game, so with new squeeky trainers he took to the court. This week saw two half hour marathon games, with simon winning 21-19 and 21-17. It was still a loss, but for steve it was a glimmer of hope of eventually winning against the whippet! Roll on next week.

Badminton: Round 2

5:30pm Thursday 17th April 09:
So with brand new rackets firmly tucked under the arm (lets be honest, badminton isn’t the coolest sport to be seen playing!) Steve and Simon left work again for another titanic battle at Kensington Sports Centre. After the 3-0 whitewash of two weeks ago, Steve knew he had something to prove and with his new £19.99 Argos Muscle Power racket in hand, was a comeback on the cards…?

7:00pm Thursday 17th April 09:

Simon 4 – 0 Steve. A brave effort from K4s Creative Director which had Simon ‘the whippet’ Barber worried in parts but overall another resounding victory. With his review next week, Simon may well regret beating the boss!

Window magic... boys will be boys!

More than rubbish

Following a 6 way pitch K4 has been appointed to create an exciting exhibition experience for SITA UK at 'Future source' in London this year. Stay tuned for more details or visit Future source in June at Excel. :)

Go Westway!

Following a 3 way pitch, K4 has been appointed to develop a new positioning statement and marketing campaigns for Westway Sports Centre, one of the UK's leading sport centres. K4 have developed a new positioning statement 'Discover sport' to underpin all of the future activities and establish Westway as the leader in its field with campaigns to follow shortly. We all look forward to working with Westway throughout the next year.

The Challenge begins!

The challenge this year is badminton. Steve and Simon have challenged each other to this fast paced sport for people who are scared of tennis balls. The first game took place on Tuesday with Simon taking advantage of his Whippet like frame and winning 3-0! Steve has disputed something about dodgy lighting, but we will see if next week is a closer match... More next week! :)

Lions Rampant is getting ready to roar

K4 has been working closely with new fashion brand, Lions Rampant to develop it's new brand, with roll out across a variety of media, on line and offline to follow shortly. We just thought you might like a sneek peek :)

It's all about strategy

K4 has developed a pocket guide to illustrate Halcrow's strategy for the next ten years. The global guide was designed to encouraged inspiration and imagination to all aspects of the business for the years to come.

Our Creative Director, Steve, this weekend...

Love it!

Following the viral success of the 'Gorilla' advert and the not so great 'Trucks' ad, Cadbury have got it spot on with their new advert. Not only does it have a subtle bit of branding, but its funny and memorable. Still makes us chuckle when the girl breaks out the balloon.

For others its snow go...

One K4 explorer gets left behind :(

Snow action...

Two intrepid K4 explorers brave the weather!!

An Inspiration to millions

I'm sure that I'm not the only person who is saddened by the loss of one of the best loved stars of the creative industry - Tony Hart. Single handed he inspired millions of children to be creative and express themselves, he certainly inspired me to be what I am today!

One fond memory is sitting cross legged in front of the TV watching tony at work. He was scribbling with chalk, and I was thinking 'What is it?' It was only when he held a mirror to the final image did it reveal a city scape and its reflection in the sea!

He cant be replaced, but where is the next Tony to inspire a new generation?

Bright moves for 2009

K4 are loving the Bauhaus furniture designs from Le Tramac. The strong primary colours are a modern take on the 20th Century design classics.

It's simple!

Can't teach a old dog new tricks? Archetoys certainly have. Designed by Floris, not only will the classic, simple shapes appeal to kids, but adults alike. On the wish list for my nephew, honest!

Graceful

She's always seem as a bit of a nutter, so it would take a really brave person to work with Grace Jones. Andrea Klarin has stepped up to the challenge, they seem to have struck a cord with each other, as the shots are simply stunning.

Please sir can we have some more!

Its so nice to see there is still a place for traditional art in the world of vinyl stickers. This chemists near K4, hired an artist to paint on their window for xmas, looks fantastic....more of the same please!!

....due to the credit crunch

Since the 'Credit Crunch' started last year it is a term that is used throughout the media on a daily basis. Only this morning did I hear a story that people we not using phone voting as much on TV, the reporter signs off ....'this is due to the credit crunch'. What's next? 'Skip the dog sadly went missing two weeks ago............due to the credit cunch'

I am a strong believer in positive thinking, but I can understand why people are not spending, because the media wants to promote doom and gloom. So come on lets all think positive and hopefully they will stop ending all reports on ....due to the credit crunch.

K4 at the Kooks

So off we all went to support the Kooks, a studio favorite, at the Roundhouse in Camden. Apart from being a superb venue, the Kooks blew the roof of the Roundhouse with EVERY track being excellent. It was the last night of their 3 night set and they certainly went out in style.

More reasons to visit K4!

A new vibrant retail centre is due to open in (literally) days... this new wonderful 'fashionista land' is just 10mins walk from Holland Park.

"Westfield London" is the long awaited retail development at White City/Shepherds Bush. Designed by internationally acclaimed architects, Michael Gambellini (think New York’s Rockefeller Centre) and London designers Softroom, the site is set to push the boundaries of retail design.

Influenced by nature, water and light, a vast central Atrium (the size of a football pitch AND full of boutiques) has been built from marble, granite and glass and is set to be an area for exhibitions and events... as well as alfresco dining, more shopping, exploring luxury brands, chilling in water-gardens, a bit more shopping and finally indulging in cafe-culture lifestyle. The site is also eco-friendly, with much of the construction material being 50% recycled, plus it has a facility for harvesting rain-water!

We can't wait for the grand opening... roll on 30th October 2008!

Fire the designer

We couldn't believe this when we saw it. Was it a simple error or the retaliation of a frustrated designer, either way I'm sure heads rolled!!

K4 gets rampant

K4 has been appointed to create, build and develop the brand for a new and exciting British leisure wear brand called 'Lion's Rampant'

Lion's Rampant was born from a sporting heritage, not just sports wear, but 'old school' British Pride. Lion's Rampant is not just a brand for those who play sport regularly, but for those who associate with sports and enjoy the influence 'the game', in whichever form, has on us as a nation.

So watch this space, this brand is going to be huge!

Who needs a digital camera!

Stephen Wiltshire, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of three, memorised the appearance and position of hundreds of London's buildings in exact scale during a helicopter ride along the Thames.

Over the next five days, the 33-year-old drew the seven-square mile panorama, including landmarks such as the Swiss tower, and Canary Wharf, on a 13ft curving canvas. The result, as im sure you would agree is outstanding! www.stephenwiltshire.co.uk
